About Matthew D. Hutcheson

No other industry's credibility has been tainted in recent years like that of the financial industry.  In a 2010 Adweek Media/Harris Poll (conducted December 14 - 16, 2009), "the financial industry has lost significant credibility with US consumers" having the highest rankings for being the "least trustworthy."

Matthew D. Hutcheson is trying to change that.

"Mr. Hutcheson is a professional independent fiduciary to retirement plans such as pension, 401(k), etc.  He is the leader of the independent fiduciary movement, and is acclaimed for his unwavering advocacy for investors and plan participants. Public confidence and trust in the private pension/retirement system has been greatly enhanced due to Mr. Hutcheson's involvement in it,"

Don Trone; President of Strategic Ethos and the Investment Professional Leadership Institute.

"Matt exemplifies trust building in action. The financial industry has the opportunity to rebuild the trust it has lost, and he is leading the way."

Stephen M. R. Covey; Speed of Trust

"You've fought a battle that few were willing to wage, and have been the cause of tremendous reforms that will benefit millions. What you have done is real for literally millions of people who struggle to earn a little rest at the end of their work-weary lives."

Daniel Peterson; Plan Sponsor

"Be glad in the knowledge that you have ignited a passion in so many others.  An army is being assembled with the objective of being our brothers' keeper and our cause can be further accelerated through the catalyst of your leadership.  Under your leadership, there is an environment of cooperation among a growing group of like-minded independent fiduciary firms."

About Matthew D. Hutcheson

Independent ERISA Fiduciary

The Employee Retirement Income Security Act - or "ERISA" - requires that all retirement plans subject to its jurisdiction be managed by one or more named fiduciaries.  A plan sponsor may choose to manage a plan internally, and thus accept the associated fiduciary responsibilities.  A plan sponsor may also choose to delegate those responsibilities to an independent professional.  Independent fiduciaries can play various roles, including that of Plan Administrator, Named Fiduciary, Trustee, Investment Manager, or any other role where the scope and assignment are well defined and properly delegated.  Independent fiduciaries relieve pressure, fear, uncertainty, and doubt.  Independent fiduciaries adhere to the terms of the plan documents that are designed and implemented by the plan sponsor.
